Hey Kanye, Black People Don't Hate George Bush
Or at least they don't hate the President's federal reconstruction proposal of $200 billion dollars mentioned in his recent speech:
From Rasmussen, via Newsbusters via Instapundit:
Fifty-seven percent (57%) of black voters support the federal reconstruction spending while just 17% are opposed. Among white voters, 49% favor the spending and 29% are opposed. This is the first Bush Administration proposal hat [sic] has attracted more support from black Americans than from white Americans.
I'm not a huge fan of polls—the tend to be superficial, and the perceptions that drive them can turn on a dime—but I find it interesting that apparently the same people who shake their fist at Bush with one hand, are more than happy to dip their sticky fingers into the federal honeypot with the other.
There are two Americas; one that gets checks and one that writes them. I wonder if the support for this boondoggle falls evenly among these two groups? I bet not.
Posted by: Bluepoint Vance at September 19, 2005 09:08 PMYa gotta wonder WHY would anyone WANT to live in the slummiest of slums (Da 'hood) in New Orleans...
The welfare system in Louisiana is easy to screw over... So, the so-called *poorest* people in the state reside there and burden the system...
It's run by the Dems, has been for decades... Federal money goes in, what doesn't get skimmed off by corrupt adminstrators goes to the recipiants, real and deserving or otherwise...
Then the ganglords extort the crap out of the LEGAL welfare recipiants, all the while the NOPD turns it's back, if it shows it's face at all, until time to get THEIR payoff for turning said backs...
The whole damn place is a sewer, the hurricane just rearranged the garbage..
