What Might Have Bean

"Administration Presses Students into Farm Labor" --New York Times

"President's Sweatshop Agriculture" -- Mother Jones

"Executive Branch Breaches International Child Labor Laws" --Amnesty International

"First Lady Plans Subsistence Farming on White House Grounds To Survive Crashing Economy" Newsweek

"COUP IMMINENT: Concentration Camps Under Construction" --Raw Story

At least, that is how this story would have been told if Bush was still in office.

1.) Have DC Zoning laws been modified to allow for this use of the land?
2.) Has an environemntal study been completed and filed with the EPA that would tell us how this will affect the Potomac River / Cheasapeake Bay aquifer?
3.) Is the 1st Lady ready to comply with new FDA regulations concerning food labeling, should she decide to share any of the produce?
4.) Since this is federal land, has the Dept. of the Interior been notified of this change is land-use? Have the proper permits been filled out and submitted?
These are only SOME of the possible BS regulations that any other "normal person" would have to deal with if they were to accomplish the equivalent of this wonderful PR stunt. Yet the media does NOT ask any of these questions...Why not?
