Religion of Peace Attacks Cartoonist... Again

Let them have their way in all things, or face their violent wrath:

The home of a Swedish artist who once drew a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad as a dog has been hit by a suspected arson attack, police said Saturday.

Lars Vilks, who lives in Nyhamnslage in southern Sweden, was not at home during the attack late Friday night and no one was reported injured.

It was the latest in a week of attacks on the 53-year-old cartoonist, who was assaulted Tuesday by a man while he lectured at a university and saw his Web site apparently attacked by hacker on Wednesday.

I've long tried to give Muslims the benefit of the doubt, hoping that despite 1,300+ years of evidence to the contrary that it was extremists that misunderstood or perverted Islam that were the root of Islamic terrorism and suppression.

But that simply isn't the case, it it?

I learned all I needed to know about Islam "the religion of peace" on 911.
The MSM breifly showed the celebrations in the streets in several of the middle east nations capitol citys. These joyful celebrations were the so called mainstream "peaceful" moslems.
There is no compromise with these people. They are the enemy, and the sooner as we recognize this the better off we will be.

I think that one of the worst things that Bush did was to define our war as one against "terror". Terror is only a weapon or a battle plan. It has to be implemented by people. When a nation begins to make war, it makes war against people for a specified reason. In this case, we should have indicated that 9/11 was the culmination of a least 40 years of attacks by Islam. As we have seen recently, it takes very little for us to move from a conservative Muslim to an individual that will do anything to injure innocent individuals. There does not seem to be a specific country that is the culprit, thus our enemy is a religion rather than a nation. If we say that the actions are only confined to extremist, then we are not looking at the facts. Consider what would have occurred in WWII if we confined our war to only the Nazi or the Japanese military elite. We would still be fighting and likely losing.

We are giving up our freedom to make sure that Muslims do not feel uncomfortable or put out or racially defined. I have had enough and feel we need to grow up and confront our enemy, which in this case is a religion. We are not the only ones with this problem. Every country that allows Muslims freedom has had significant problems, from India, China, Russia to here.

History is piled with the bodies of the gullible and complacent who gave evil "the benefit of the doubt". Islam brings nothing of value to a free republic - its very nature being incompatible with liberty. One sign at a muslim demonstration said it all about islam's position on America: "Freedom go to Hell!". Back at you.

To follow up what Paul K stated earlier - I remember not only seeing celebrations in the streets of middle eastern cities. I remember seeing a celebration outside a Mosque or Islamic Center in Patterson NJ! It was only televised once and then was buried very deep - never to be seen again. I'm sure the program director got word from above that this was not to be shown again "or else."
