Tea Party Official Concerned That Death Threat Democrat May Be "Canary In A Coal Mine"
Days after blood-libeling conservatives and Tea Party supporters for Jared Loughner's blood rampage last Saturday, Eric Fuller was arrested for making a death threat towards an Tea Party official and involuntarily committed to a mental health evaluation. Some are speculating that trauma from the shooting may be to blame for Fuller's outburst, and that is entirely possible.
But it now appears that Fuller may have been confrontational prior to the shooting as well, getting into a verbal altercation at the Giffords event last weekend prior to the shooting that required an aide to Giffords to separate Fuller from the still unidentified second party.
Trent Humphries, the Tucson Tea Party official threatened by Fuller, has received
numerous other threats as well, and wonders if the threats will translate into action.
"I had nothing to do with the murders that happened or the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords," Humphries said. "And I wonder, if he (Fuller) is crazy or is he the canary in a coal mine? Is he saying what a lot of other people are holding in their hearts? If so, that's a problem."
Based upon comments made from self-described progressives in social media and on blogs since last weekend and on cable news, dishonest rhetoric and hate towards the right is indeed very much in the hearts of those on the left. What is far less certain is whether or not progressives are willing to convert their vile rhetoric into physical acts.
Boy, tell me about it. I found out yesterday that some of my Leftist "friends" on a local forum fantasize about me getting hit by a bus.
I don't like them much either (primarily due to their rude and uncouth behavior) but I don't wish them harm.
Those on the Left aren't the people they claim to be.
Posted by: Tim at January 16, 2011 05:56 PMIt is something for people to consider. Leftists are not honest nor are they honorable.
Be aware and act accordingly.
I wonder if something happens to any Tea Party member if the press and the pundits will be a quick to condem the left with baseless accusations as they were in the Arizona Tragedy when they blamed the right.
Posted by: Rob at January 17, 2011 01:03 AMThe victims of Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Che, and a host of others know all too well that leftists have no qualms about putting their violent rethoric into physical acts.
Whether the pampered college kid leftists in the USA have the guts to do so remains to be seen, but there's always Bill Ayers and the Unabomber as examples that at least some do have the tendency.
Posted by: JTW at January 17, 2011 06:05 AMThis is the odd thing about Leftists. They make use of "death talk" routinely. Bill Maher, Special Ed Schultz, Olbermann, Chris Matthews and his Leg, Rep. Kanjorski, Barney Frank, etc. They feel it's perfectly OK to wish for the deaths of conservatives and yet get all bent out of shape over some "targeting" metaphor or calling Obama a socialist. As if that kind of rhetoric is more inflammatory than actual death talk. The only thing I can think of to explain this huge double standard is that they think conservatives are just so morally reprehensible that if one of them gets killed then more's the better. But if there is even the hint of violence against one of their own (even if it's just in their own minds), well that is beyond the pale. It's just part of their twisted world-view.
Posted by: RickS at January 17, 2011 10:48 AMThe lunatic left are the most hateful hypocrites in America. They are losing their grip because they were actually foolish enough to believe the country was jumping on their liberal fascist bandwagon. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
Posted by: Bonzer Wolf at January 17, 2011 11:36 AMThey can death talk all they please. I will use whatever force needed to protect me and mine. I will also retaliate against whoever would harm me and mine. Does that make me wrong? no. It makes me a human being. Bring it. I will too when I must.
Posted by: Odins Acolyte at January 17, 2011 12:53 PMWould the leftists translate their hate language against conservatives into action? Where have you been the last 10 years. Of course they will. This is what they do. I think it is called projection, when they blame others for thinking about what they have themeselves done.
