Gone Fishin'

I'm taking my family on a long-deserved vacation to the mountains of western North Carolina for a week, starting Saturday morning. Hopefully, that involves some trout and smallmouth fishing in the area lakes and streams. I don't know if the place we're going even has an internet connection, so I may very well not be online for the duration of the trip.

I'm leaving you in the best of hands, and I'll see you in a week.

Well, shoot. Here you are coming to WNC and I'm headed out to St. Louis in the morning. Bummer.

Depending on where you are going, the French Broad in Asheville is looking clear again and has really good smallmouth fishing. I hear the Little Tennessee in Franklin is also good for smallmouths.

For trout, take your pick.

The highs are supposed to be in the mid 80s after Sunday with lows in the 60s. Lower this by 5-10 degrees if you go up higher in altitude.

Enjoy your well deserved rest! Went you return nothing will have changed, so you don't need to think about 'saving the world' for the week! Trout for breakfast, cooked over an open fire, is simply the BEST. Good fishing to you!
